I’m pretty sure that Ben Ellman, while flipping burgers in the kitchen at Tipitina’s back in the 1990s, never imagined that he and the rest of Galactic would someday own the place. An amazing accomplishment. Read about it in Variety.

In a nighttime ceremony on the corner of Napoleon and Tchopitoulas in their hometown of New Orleans, Galactic was inducted into Tipitina’s Walk Of Fame. Their illuminated sidewalk medallion joined those of Irma Thomas, the Neville Brothers, The Dixie Cups, Walter Wolfman Washington, and other legends of the Crescent City music scene. WWOZ DJ David Kunian gave a great speech / roast to a crowd overflowing the sidewalk and spilling out onto the street. A great honor and major milestone for a band entering their 16th year together.
